Ash yellows is a disease caused by Candidatus fraxinii, which affects the tree’s vascular system or its’ phloem sieve tubes. It is presently only found in North America. Ash yellows
disease cycle is still a mystery. Experts think it is transmitted by insect vectors such as leaf hoppers which also transmit viruses.
