Pathogen—Botryodiplodia canker is caused by fungal species in the genus Botryodiplodia, including B. hypodermia
and B. theobromae. Botryodiplodia is the asexual form of the fungus. The sexual states for some of the
Botryodiplodia species are Botryosphaeria spp.
