SPRING 2022

65 years… and looking ahead

ISA Certified Arborist PD-53
As we enter 2022, I reflect on our company which my father, John B. Ward, started in 1957. Times change and things evolve, but the basic principles on which he founded the business remain steadfast. Treat clients honestly. Always do the best work possible. Treat co-workers with respect and understanding. Sixty-five years later, those simple rules still hold true.

Callery Pear

ISA Certified Arborist PD-78
I remember the Bradford Callery pear trees along South Street in Philadelphia. Planted in the 1960s, they created an allée of dark-trunked, white-flowered magic in May. They have all been removed. Today, many nurseries no longer distribute the tree and some states have banned the planting of this aggressive, invasive, non-native species.
