As we begin our 68th year in business, we are energized by the momentum created last year with the training and development of arborists at John B. Ward & Company. We are proud of our newest ISA Certified Arborists, Justin Shirley, Miles Stenger and Jack Heim. This important certification confirms their knowledge and dedication to our profession of caring for trees.
Jim Roach and our Safety Committee organized two tremendous all-staff training days in 2024. We appreciate the generosity of Awbury Arboretum and Villanova University for allowing us to utilize their facilities (and trees) to train our staff. These training days are in addition to our weekly safety meetings and allow for in-depth team training and development.
We have updated our website with more information about our company and services. Please refer to our Resource Library for the latest information on Tree Insects and Diseases.
Unfortunately, our tree canopy is under a new threat as we confirmed the presence of Beech Leaf Disease in Wynnewood during the summer of 2024. Chris Ward’s article in this newsletter explains the available treatment options for this disease and we continue to network with industry leaders and university researchers to bring you new developments. As a community, we have an incredible beech tree collection, and we are determined to lead the tree preservation effort.
Plant health care continues to evolve quickly and we are at the forefront of utilizing the latest and safest treatment products and methods to keep your landscape looking its best.
On behalf of our family and employees, we thank you for your continued confidence in allowing us to care for your valuable trees and shrubs.
